Rare 1 of
just 250 supercharged T-Sports built; smart and desirable variant of the
much-loved Corolla; MOT until July 2027
Supplied new by Colchester Toyota in May 2006, this ninth-generation
Toyota Corolla E120 is a particularly rare T-Sport Compressor TTE, understood to
be one of just 250 examples sold in the UK. Finished in Dark Grey, it retains
its original 17-inch 20-spoke turbine alloy wheels, discreet TTE badging and
twin-exit exhaust.
The real appeal lies beneath
the bonnet, where the limited-production 1.8-litre 2ZZ-GE 16-valve DOHC
supercharged four-cylinder engine produces an impressive 224bhp, driving the
front wheels through a six-speed manual gearbox.
The interior features a distinctive two-tone Black and Red cloth trim
with sports front seats, electric windows and mirrors, digital climate control
with air conditioning, the original radio/CD player and traction
control.
Currently showing 117,138 miles, the
Corolla presents well overall and has a particularly appealing throaty exhaust
note. The history file includes the V5C showing six former keepers, owner's pack
and service book containing eight stamps, the last recorded in April 2015 at
77,141 miles, together with two previous MOT certificates and various
invoices.
Recent expenditure includes an Aisin
clutch kit purchased in October 2021 and a Denso air-flow meter purchased in
February 2022. Also included is the operating manual for Meister R adjustable
coilovers, which appear to be fitted to the car.
The current MOT is valid until July 2027 and records just one
advisory. The vendor drove the Corolla over 35 miles to the sale and reports
that it starts, drives and stops as expected, as demonstrated during its time on
site for photography and filming.
A genuinely
rare and highly individual performance Corolla, the T-Sport Compressor TTE has
developed a cult following of its own. With its supercharged engine, six-speed
manual gearbox and limited production numbers, this represents an increasingly
collectible Japanese modern classic with plenty of
character.
