First registered in 1959, this desirable Triumph TR3A is a fully
restored, body-off-chassis example finished in Black with a contrasting Black
and White leatherette interior. Powered by the 2,138cc engine and manual
transmission, it has had three former keepers since being imported to the UK in
2012, with the current owner acquiring the car in August
2013.
The restoration is documented by a
selection of photographs showing the work undertaken, together with invoices for
further work carried out over the years. Since completion, the TR3A has covered
very little mileage and remains a particularly appealing example of this iconic
British sports car.
The specification has been
enhanced with a steering rack conversion, high-torque starter motor,
stainless-steel exhaust system, front anti-roll bar, overdrive, painted 60-spoke
wire wheels and an electric cooling fan, combining improved usability with the
car's traditional character.
The TR3A was driven
over 25 miles to our site without issue and, while with us for photography and a
short video, started, drove and stopped as expected.
The history file also includes three previous MOT certificates. With
its comprehensive body-off restoration, attractive colour combination, desirable
overdrive and useful mechanical upgrades, this TR3A represents an excellent
opportunity to acquire a very usable and well-presented example of one of
Triumph's most iconic sports cars.
