1985 Jaguar XJS-C HE V12
Automatic – Parts Only; magnificent 5,343cc V12 engine and automatic
transmission; This car cannot be put on the road Cat B; good history file;
driven to site
Please note: this vehicle is
being sold strictly for parts and is not to be returned to the
road.
First registered in June 1985,
this Jaguar XJS-C HE is a desirable early example powered by the magnificent
5,343cc V12 engine and automatic transmission. Finished in Metallic Blue, the
car has had just four former keepers and has been in the current ownership since
February 2004.
Unfortunately, an HPI check
has identified a historic Category B insurance loss, recorded on 12th March
1998, stating that the bodyshell should have been crushed and the vehicle should
not be on the road. This has recently been clarified with HPI and, as a result,
the car cannot legally be returned to road use and is being offered strictly as
a parts vehicle.
Interestingly, the vendor was
completely unaware of the Category B classification throughout his approximately
22 years of ownership. During this time the Jaguar was regularly driven and
continued to undergo MOT testing, with the owner understandably believing it to
be a road-legal vehicle.
The XJS is currently running
and driving, with the smooth and distinctive V12 engine performing well, and it
is accompanied by a history file containing documentation relating to some of
the work carried out during its life.
The car therefore represents
an interesting opportunity for a Jaguar enthusiast, restorer or parts
specialist, particularly given its desirable XJS-C V12 specification and
long-term ownership history. There is considerable scope to utilise the
mechanical components, trim, interior and other parts, although the vehicle must
not be put back on the road.
The private registration is
NOT included in the sale and will be retained by the
vendor.
