October 1989, this exceptional Toyota MR2 Mk1 is an increasingly rare, highly
original example showing just 26,768 miles from new. Finished in striking Bright
Red and complemented by its original velour interior, this well-preserved
first-generation MR2 offers a wonderful opportunity for collectors and
enthusiasts alike.
The current V5C records just
two former keepers, making three owners in total. Most notably, the second owner
retained the car from February 1990 until May 2025, an extraordinary 35-year
period of ownership. Throughout this time the MR2 was always garaged, carefully
maintained and serviced annually regardless of mileage, helping to preserve the
car in remarkable condition.
Originally supplied by
Llwydcoed Motors Ltd of Aberdare, the car was purchased by its long-term owner
from Pendennis Toyota, Bristol, in February 1990. Impressively, it still retains
its original Pendennis Toyota number plates, tax disc holder and dealer-applied
styling stripes, adding significantly to its originality and
provenance.
Accompanying the vehicle is an
extensive history file containing servicing records, MOT certificates, previous
V5 documents, tax discs and supporting invoices. The original handbook pack,
service book, three keys, alloy spare wheel and sunroof blind are all present,
while the original factory radio cassette remains fitted and operational. The
central locking and electric windows are reported to function
correctly.
The documented service history
is exceptional, with maintenance carried out by Toyota main dealers for many
years before later being entrusted to respected specialists. The long-term
owner's commitment to annual servicing is clearly evidenced by the comprehensive
paperwork on file.
